At an Extraordinary meeting of the Town Council on Monday 15th August, members of the Town Council heard that Sedgemoor District Council would not be considering a proposal for changes to the BMX site at Apex Park, at the September meeting of the Executive.
Members of the Town Council are pleased that the BMX Club has a home at Apex Park, and happy for the BMX to continue on the site.
Cllr Burridge-Clayton proposed that should the BMX club move from Apex Park in the future, the Town Council would like to enter into discussions with Sedgemoor District Council to level the site and restore the land for other recreational uses, possibly adding a MUGA using RLT2 and RLT3 funding and exploring other sources of funding.
The proposal was seconded by Cllr Harvey and agreed by all members at the meeting.
This would be an ideal opportunity for partnership working between the two councils, and the project would be subject to suitable finances and Sedgemoor adopting the land and equipment.
