In Charley's Memory - Training Courses

In Charley

This is to let you know, that thanks to Burnham & Highbridge Town Council and Sedgemoor District Council, In Charley's Memory is running  2 Ambassador Courses - one aimed at King Alfred's school students in year 9-12 and the other for students at Bridgwater College. The Bridgwater College Students will complete the Mental Health First Aid Course - an international qualification -  and the King Alfred students will complete a shorter course around mental health & well-being. All ambassadors will be fully supported by a mentor throughout the year and there will be a celebration event on completion of training too.

The idea of this scheme is to develop links between the school, college and In Charley's Memory, so that the young people can be more involved in developing the services and also know where to find support if one of their peers needs it - they will be sign-posting their friends to things that might help them.

Training dates for both these schemes are in October and applications are invited now.

Please contact In Charley's Memory - making mental health matter via Facebook, telephone - 01278 773403 or email - to find out more and apply for this exciting new scheme.

best wishes
