The Policy and Finance Committee considered the full budget for 2017/18 at the meeting last evening, Monday 16th January. As reported on Burnham on sea .com, the recommendation to full council on the 6th February is for a Precept of £556,543. This equates to an increase of £3.92 a year for Band D property, and not £5 as first considered in November when there was a threat that the Town Council may be capped.
The increase of £31,563 will make up £20,000 lost in support grant, add £7,000 in budget for Youth Service provision, and the remaining increase of just £4563 allows for inflation and for the Town Council to continue delivering the services it provides.
The minutes and recommendations from the Policy & Finance Committee will be considered at the Town Council meeting on Monday 6th February.
