Update – Apex Park Lake Re-Opens

The Environment Agency tested a sample that was taken from Apex Park Lake last week and the results show the levels of blue green algae are now below the threshold.   The Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation but fishing can now resume and permits can be purchased from Thyers Tackle in Highbridge - 01278 786934.

Please be reminded the park byelaws state:

  • A person shall not in the park bathe, wade or wash in any lake.

  • Neither shall a person allow a dog to enter the water.

The warning signs will be removed.  Just a reminder - there is plenty to do and see in the 42-acre park.  Visitors can go skateboarding; use the outdoor gym, as well as just enjoying a walk and the wildlife.  There is a children’s play area, a toddler area, a football goal, as well as BMX facility. Accessible paths go around the park suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. There are picnic spots, ample car parking and toilets.  A variety of hot and cold refreshments are available from Lizzie’s Kitchen in a beautifully restored 1950's American Airstream catering unit.
